Deidre Bruhn is a mixed-media artist located in Dunsborough, Western Australia.
From the beginning my passion for art was initiated by mark making and the figure - lines, smudges and layering. Experimentation was and still is vital in my art making.
The joy for me is the unexpected outcome. Working and reworking organically means nothing in my process is predetermined or precious. Each painting has its own raw energy, expression and tempo. Realism is not important but I hope there is a connection with the emotion of my work to the viewer.
My artworks are based on an atmosphere of spontaneity, allowing for the pushing and pulling between myself and the paint until I am satisfied.
